The saying goes, “It’s better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all”. The person who came up with this saying surely has never had a broken heart. I say if one doesn’t give their heart completely, then they will not have to suffer the pain of an inevitable broken heart. The saying should go, “It’s better to not give your heart over completely, but to expect the inevitable”.
I have fallen in love; I have had a broken heart. Women have fallen in love with me; I have broken their hearts. Love is a tricky thing.
Is it better to have loved and lost whereas you will surely live with the pain of a broken heart? Or is it better to keep your guard up, never fully allowing yourself to fall in love?
I love being in love! I hate the pain of a broken heart!
I love loving someone! I hate hurting them!
