Sharing my feelings, these thoughts in my head,
is something so rare for fear they’re misread.
Trying not to be difficult to those that I love,
I keep my feelings hidden and swept under the rug.
I know its unhealthy to do as I do,
keeping it inside instead of sharing with you.
The alternatives’ an option I hate to consider,
the last thing I want is to make you feel bitter.
If the time comes when I have no other choice,
I’ll speak my mind freely by using my voice.
I’m hoping for patience, understanding and no less,
but the response that I’m given is defensive at best.
Here’s a perfect example of why I do as I do,
keeping it inside instead of sharing with you.
